Hire Charges

Please be aware that there may be a limit to the number of people allowed for the hire.

There will be an additional £20 cleaning charge, this covers the barn to be cleaned before and after your hire.

Hire Information

The Hall is available to hire for £25.00 per hour.
(Min Hire 2 Hours but not available in school term time)

Evening and weekend hire.
(Min hire 2 hours)

If you require Daytime, Evening or full Day (including evening) rates these are available upon enquiry.

Weekday Hire - Until 9pm
Saturday Hire - Between 9:30 and 6:00pm
No Sunday Hire

Open-plan Hall suitable for Childrens Parties (up to age 10) and Daytime Family events.

About the Barn

From an original country barn forming part of the long vanished Labbocks farm land (originating as far back as the 1600s) and on land formally owned by Christ Hospital (a charity for poor family’s children) the barn has had many uses as a farm building prior to falling into a derelict state in more recent times.

As part of the new Acres housing development the Barn has been completely rebuilt with its adjoining derelict buildings cleared away and the grounds fenced and grassed over. All timbers that could be salvaged from the old buildings have been incorporated into the Barn we see today.

Whilst the majority of the barn is in fact new, the walls and roof timbers clearly and proudly display their original origins alongside new timbers. The Barns high open span roof is a joy to behold and a lovely feature of the Barns heritage.

Re-named as Tanyard Barn Community Centre by the Local Authority it is now finally completed and opened in September 2017 as both a Pre-School (term time) and as a hireable community centre (subject to agreed suitable use) outside the schools times.

A notice board will be displayed in the front atrium with additional information and hire events.
